EEH Success – November 2020!

November 30, 2020

Broome participants have continued to reach their goals despite COVID-19 and the associated set-backs it has caused. Two participants in particular have achieved some big milestones!

Djalen Monck-O’Meara, while completing his exams for year 11 ATAR has also managed to save money and purchase his first car, along with gaining his P plates! Djalen has been loving his newly found independence, driving himself to school and back and has even more recently secured employed with Footprint Cleaning for afternoon and weekend shifts. Djalen is so self-driven and we are very proud of his achievements this year.

Shaydean Purdie has just recently completed Kimberley Girl 2020, graduating with a Certificate II in Leadership along with gaining such self-confidence and pride in herself. Shaydean took the stage among her fellow competitors and blew us away with her presence, growth and maturity throughout the process. Shaydean has also recently secured employment with Kimberley Development Commission and continues to work on her driving goals, regularly taking part in driving lessons to practise for her driving test.

Well done to our Broome team for supporting these young people to reach their personal, employment and training goals – the positive environment at Nyirrwa Murrgurlayi allows our young people to reach their potential.

"I am incredibly grateful for all of the help and commitment MADALAH gave towards putting me through schooling away from home. I wouldn't have had these great opportunities to secure a future life after school without MADALAH! " Jordee Simmons
