On Tuesday 23rd November MADALAH held its first ever Sundowner as a thank you to all of our corporate partners, supporters of the 2021 MADALAH Ball and as an opportunity for our tertiary scholars to network. The event also provided our emerging young leaders with an opportunity to share their stories and entrepreneurial skills.
This event was held at Frasers Function Centre in Kings Park which gave everyone in attendance a fantastic view of the city! The night saw our emerging leaders, Prendiville Catholic College, Penrhos College and 2022 scholar Alkira Hansen exhibit a selection of items available for purchase on the night. This gave everyone the opportunity on the night to take a little piece of MADALAH home with them.
The MADALAH stall included designs from three of our current scholars; Grace Dimer a Year 7 scholar from Penrhos College, Monty Petterson a Year 10 scholar from Trinity College and William Mullaley a Year 7 scholar from Wesley College. To commence the evening, Robyn Collard provided an inspiring Welcome to Country which was followed by an address from MADALAH’s Chairperson Jeanice Krakouer and a heartfelt speech from emerging young leader Chiara Miller-Sabbioni.
Canapes and drinks were enjoyed throughout the evening, with many conversations had between students, tertiaries, corporates, MADALAH staff and mentors.
Just before the evening concluded, each of the students in attendance were gifted a copy of MADALAH Ambassador Bill Dempsey’s Autobiography. They were even lucky enough to yarn with him in person and have the book signed on the night.
We would like to thank all of our corporate partners who attended, our emerging leaders, Penrhos College, Prendiville Catholic College, Alkira from Alkira Designs and Graphic Source for their sponsorship. It was a wonderful event enjoyed by all!
