Graduate Interview – Levi Duyckers
Levi is a Year 12 student at Scotch College, who has plans to go to the University of Western Australia and study Exercise and Health in 2019. Below is a graduate interview with Levi.
Scholarship: Awarded the MADALAH Woodside scholarship for year 11 & 12. Will continue to be supported by the MADALAH Woodside scholarship for his tertiary studies.

Levi is a current year 12 student at Scotch College, and is in the midst of completing his final ATAR exams. In year 11 and 12, he was awarded the MADALAH Woodside Scholarship, and will continue to be supported throughout his tertiary studies.
Next year, Levi has plans to attend the University of Western Australia to study a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Health. At school he established a passion for PE Studies as he found it was easy to learn and relate back to the way his body moves and the sports he played.
When asked about the MADALAH scholarship program, Levi stated “he was so thankful for the opportunity, because without the MADALAH scholarship he wouldn’t have been able to attend such a highly regarded school.” Levi immediately noticed the higher teaching quality and extra support he was provided for his studies when he started at Scotch College in year 10.
Levi really thrived during his time at Scotch College, and in year 12, he was elected as the Sport Prefect for his House. He nearly didn’t apply, but with some encouragement he put his application in on the last day and was elected by his teachers and peers. Levi was happy to take on the leadership position, where he organised events and mentored other students whilst also completing his year 12 studies. Sport has always been a big part of Levi’s life; particularly AFL. His mum always reminds him that it’s important to balance study with things he enjoys like football and hanging out with his friends.
Trying new things and challenging yourself is something Levi places value on. If he could give advice to a new MADALAH scholarship student he would say “take every opportunity that comes to you as you will regret not doing them, even if it’s something outside your comfort zone. It’s important to participate and have fun as you never know what you have a passion for until you try it”.
The team at MADALAH wish Levi the best with his exams and can’t wait to see what big things he achieves next.
