Who can and how to apply

MADALAH Scholarships

When applying for a scholarship it is important that all of the application criteria must be met. Please note that the scholarships are only for young people of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.

Secondary Student Criteria

  • Be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and be able to provide proof of descent
  • Be eligible for ABSTUDY and/or demonstrate some form of disadvantage, e.g; financial, geographic etc and provide proof 
  • Apply to one or more of our partner schools and provide proof of offer or enrolment where you have it
  • Provide most recent academic results
  • Provide one letter from a referee
  • Applicants must have a good school attendance and behaviour record
  • Applicants must have a home location in Western Australia
 
Please note: proof of enrolment will be required before a scholarship can be awarded, but does not have to be supplied at time of applying. If applying to multiple partner schools please note on the application your order of preference.
 

Applications for 2024 Secondary Scholarships have now closed and will re open on Wednesday 1st November 2023 for scholarships commencing in 2025. 

Tertiary Student Criteria

  • Be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and be able to provide proof of descent
  • Be seeking a tertiary scholarship
  • Have applied or be in the process of applying to an Australian University for full-time study
  • Provide proof of enrolment or an acceptance letter
  • Provide most recent academic results
  • Provide one letter from a referee
  • Applicants must have a home location in Western Australia
 
Applications for 2024 Tertiary Scholarships are now closed and will re-open for 2025 on Tuesday 1st October 2024.
